When you go through a break up, it can be one of the most difficult things to go through. Not only have you got to pick up the pieces of your life and move on, but you also have to deal with all the worrying thoughts, emotional chaos, stream of what-if thinking and self-doubt.

Well, first of all, it is crucial to know this is really about you. A large amount of folks might have difficulty coping with a break-up because they generally tend to look outside of themselves for authorization or to feel emotionally okay.

Okay, you may be thinking, I feel bad, and that is my fault. But, what do I do about it?
Well, the very first thing is to realize that negative thoughts come from targeting your thoughts on what you don’t want. That’s right, any time you’re feeling bad, emotionally, it’s usually because you are brooding about something you do not want, don’t have, or lost.
Take a minute and think about it. Isn’t that true?
Here is what you can do about it. You can simply change your thoughts and think about something you do desire as an alternative.
That may seem a bit simplistic, and there is definitely a lot more when you get down into the details, but if you can really change your thoughts and get yourself to contemplate positive things or enjoy your own life, you will start to feel a bit better.
When you concentrate on what you would like, you can immediately feel positive. Rather than stressing about what might occur if you can’t get her back, wondering why “my ex girlfriend hates my guts,” or if he’s truly gone for good, you can start to drift back into those negative thoughts.
It could be a lot of work to maintain your focus on what you want. But with a little bit of practice you will be able to develop the skill and it will get simpler. After all, concentrating on what you want feels nice, right? Therefore wouldn’t you naturally begin to do more of that if it led on to you feeling better about your life and letting go of the agony of the split up?
